James is from the South Yorkshire area and grew up spending time outdoors hiking and playing sports. This past summer he spent an unforgettable time at a summer camp in New York State!
The first thing I remember about arriving at camp was playing rock paper scissors with 40 other people on a basketball court. Everyone was so full of energy, I was very jet-lagged and couldn’t help but wonder what I had gotten myself into! But to my surprise, I had made good friends in a matter of days and was ready for the challenge ahead. Camp started days later and we were in the full swing of things. The days were long, the kids were tiring, but I loved every minute of it! Camp was a great atmosphere and a perfect place to try new things with some amazing people.
My most memorable moment was when I went to lake Moomaw with my cabin of 15 year-old boys. Me and one of my campers, Jacob were in the tube and we thought it would be a good idea to ask the driver to go as fast as she could. After holding on for dear life for a good 5 minutes we flew up 5m into the air and crashed headfirst into the water. We came above the water to see the cabin practically in tears with laughter.
