After Camp

One of the benefits of working at camp in America is the ability to travel after camp for up to 30 days in the US.

If you choose to travel in the US after you have completed your camp contract, you can do so independently during your 30 day grace period. You can go where you want and experience what your heart desires for up to 30 days. You will make many great friends at camp, some American and some fellow international travelers. It’s a great idea to make plans to travel together after camp and maybe visit some of your new American friends as you work your way around America!

Americans are extremely welcoming – don’t be surprised if they offer to put you up for a couple of nights!

Traveling Outside of North America

During your 30 day grace period post-camp, your visa will allow you to travel inside of the United States of America only. If you plan on visiting Canada or Mexico, you may have difficulties re-entering America. Once you leave the USA, your J-1 visa will end. After departing the US, IENA will not be able to assist you if you have difficulties in another country or reentering the US, as your J-1 Visa has already ended. It is also worth noting that the moment you leave the USA, your medical insurance coverage ends and cannot be resumed.

IENA have teamed up with a number of great companies that provide additional services that will assist you with your travel planning:
